I started my journey with a Piaggio Scooter, it was 150cc's and on a really good day with the wind to help push me along, I could hit 105 km/h (65 mph). That wasn't a problem for me, I was just having fun. I didn't use the highway unless I was running late. I loved it, I remember telling Larry that I was so happy with it that I didn't need a motorcycle but that was short lived. Soon I had my first Suzuki Boulevard S40, it was little and I felt really comfortable handling it, it was 650cc's and weighted about 350lbs. I could keep up with traffic pretty good, it was easy to handle and fun to ride. Then I started to do some longer rides, and realized that a bigger bike would handle it much better and here we are, on my Suzuki Boulevard M50, it has 800cc, so no trouble keeping up with traffic, it doesn't vibrate as much and is a pretty easy ride. It did take a while to get use to the extra weight and bigger size but I am feeling pretty comfortable now.
One time Larry and I went for a ride to Owen Sound, it was our second time heading out there and we were looking for an alternative way, the first time we went we found it a bit boring and there was a lot of traffic so we were looking for an alternative way, we set up the gps on my phone to the scenic route and with earbuds we followed the directions, and had such a fun ride.
It was after that ride that I thought it would be fun to start a blog, maybe learn about what other people are doing and which roads they are taking to get there. It's always fun to talk to fellow bikers while out with our bikes, I feel like I'm doing that here - Sharing my experiences and hoping to hear about yours.
